Hi there

After doing mostly psych claims, I've just been given my first recovery and I'm having trouble locating the owner of a building where a trip and fall occurred. I've spoken to the tenants who have no idea, the property managers aren't getting back to me, and I've found out that the owners solicitor's location but my concern is the solicitor won't come to the party.

Any advise out there on what else I can do to track down landlords/owners?

I would be soooo grateful!!

Not sure where you are located but there should be some local authority that handles land matters where you may be able to get a copy of the title.

You could also try database searches on the address - following occupants back to when the owner may have initially lived there.

I would recommend using the information broker Citec Confirm and obtaining the title for the property, which will reveal the owner. Title searches can also be obtain online from state government lands authorities, as Darren has advised.

The first step involves searching for the lot number associated with the address, and then ordering the title and obtaining the owner's name.

You might have some luck finding the owner in the white pages or on the electoral role or other paid databases.

Conduct an RPData search on the property - if the building is owned by a company, get a company extract through ABR.
