Hi all,
I am logged in as a trainee investigator and would like some help with a question.
If a lady was to come to me suggesting that a close friend/work Associate of her/s was involved in a form of banking fraud and has asked her to participate, what steps would she need to take in helping the company catch her out while remaining annonymous :?:

Your friend may find it a little hard to have her friend court out and still remain anonymous, as her friend has already asked her to be a part of a criminal offence. If she dose not participate in the fraud ( which of course she should not do under any circumstances ) and she dobs her in and she gets court, then her friend may automatically be suspicious. At the end of the day, who needs friends like that and your friend should do her patriotic duty and report the incident to her company officials that she works for, who will find it easy to set a trap, ether with or without the federal police and catch her out. If done well her friend will be able to avoid being drawn into anything while the trap is set in place.

Hope this helps

regards Eddie

Please review the following and decide who needs to contact the Police.
Crimestoppers is anonymous.

How much do you know about this situation (rhetorical). I had a mate who simply cashed two cheques for someone else and because he knew that the cheques were part of a fraud he got jail for 18 months.

SECTION 316

2.2 Section 316 of the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW) provides that:

Concealing serious offences

316(1) If a person has committed a serious offence and another person who knows or believes that the offence has been committed and that he or she has information which might be of material assistance in securing the apprehension of the offender or the prosecution or conviction of the offender for it fails without reasonable excuse to bring that information to the attention of a member of the Police Force or other appropriate authority, that other person is liable to imprisonment for 2 years.

(2) A person who solicits, accepts or agrees to accept any benefit for himself or herself or any other person in consideration for doing anything that would be an offence under subsection (1) is liable to imprisonment for 5 years.

(3) It is not an offence against subsection (2) merely to solicit, accept or agree to accept the making good of loss or injury caused by an offence or the making or reasonable compensation for that loss or injury.

The meaning of “serious offence in s 316(1) is:
