Is there really hardly any work in Brisbane for Newbies?  Perth is meant to be abundant however Brisbane has 2 million people rather than 1.6, so It must be possible to forge a career here......  I don't mind if it takes awhile to build my case load up.

Currently training with one of the big companies and have to tell them where I will be living.

Any thoughts from those experienced and working?

If you want to stay in Brisbane and aren't afraid to take a while to build up a steady supply of work then stay where you are and don't move.

Personally, I really think it's a personal decision about relocating, due to no person or company having intimate knowledge about your family situation or private life.

I'm in Perth with G4S, and while there are alot of time I'm working flat out for weeks on end, there are times like this fortnight (Easter, School holidays, etc) where its been quiet. I wouldn't be relocating over these sorts of holidays/ quiet times and be relying on hours. Also with an influx of new agents they can't give you a set amount of hours. In saying all that G4S are good to work for also it's pretty nice living and working in WA been here 19yrs now from NSW.

Hmmm,

Considering I have flexible part time work to suppliment here, its might not be worth the move straight up... food for thought.

Thank you       :?

Agent99,

It will ultimately come down to the type of work you are seeking.
I'm sure the industry within all other states is somewhat challenging to enter into and as such I think you should give Brisbane an attempt.

I've heard there is a shortage of surveillance work via firms in comparison to factual. However if you obtain a good foundation of experience in either it will assist you in perhaps sub-contracting to a variety of firms.

I attribute my step into the industry to a person who gave me a go when no-one else would. I hope you find your equivalent to help you in.

Hey Leah - long time no speak. Things have been hectic here with my wedding and what not - off to Eastern Europe in 10 days for the honey moon - once I get back , its back to it. I must admit its been frustrating with everything on and the timing of it all. Be glad to get back into it.
