Friday was the day I was to renew my License.  I woke up not really looking forward to it because OFT never makes it easy.  I rang the Brisbane OFT to ask if anything was necessary other than my forms, my two photos and myself in person. I was told nothing else was needed.  I questioned the fingerprinting and was told that I will need to pay $100 today and will get a letter in the mail telling me where and when to be fingerprinted?  I documented times and names for my record.

So far so good.

So husband and I drove into the city, he dropped me off and went away, ready to be picked up once I had finished the business.  By the way, this little adventure cost me three hours of my time.

I complete my form, submit my two photos, as well as hand over my credit card to make payment.  The receipt is minus the $100 - it hasn't been taken out.  I question it.  I was then told that because I paid for the renewal of my license before 3 October, I do not need to pay the $100.  I questioned that also and a supervisor appeared out of nowhere and repeated what the previous Public Servant told me.  Yes, again I documented times and names.

I shake my head while I walk away and hope to goodness that I will not be fined because if I am, I have three names and two times of the day documented.

They must see me coming.

Lesley,

You seem to have similar issues as I have with administration offices. If a form can be lost, a payment debited twice, a letter missed or an incorrect form sent out...it will be mine :)

I'm looking forward to my renewal. Maybe mine will get filed in the dark corner with your application.

I'll give you a call shortly to catch up.
