Hi All,

Do any newly licensed individuals have any experiences that they'd like to share about hey they obtained work (and/or supervision) while holding a probationary license ?

Cheers,

Brad.

Hi Brad
How depressing that you didn't get any replies to this, but hopefully you got some PM's. I'm assuming you're in NSW, otherwise the probationary issue isn't really a, well, an issue. If you are NSW then you'd know that you can't work as a contractor for 12 months, which I thought would have been the hugest hurdle ever, but it turns out that quite a few companies are prepared to employ on a casual basis. I've done this and I'm currently with two companies and I'm working 5 to 6 days a week (usually).  if they like you they'll give you work, especially as they'll be paying you less than their more experienced Investigators, and they still claim the full amount from their clients. If you're interested, I can pM you some names.  Otherwise, you know I get job alerts from seek every day and there are often applicable jobs you can apply for. Just whack "investigator" as the tile of a job search and up they come. Good luck!!

Thanks for the post J,

It appears that in Victoria that the new legislation requires Vic Pol to issue "probationary" licenses.

A phone call to them provided me with an verbal understanding of what is expected - however getting anything in writing is a different matter.

Cheers,
