Hi all,

Just a brief post to introduce myself. Although I have only recently enrolled in the Cert III in Investigative Services, I have long followed this forum.

I have enjoyed reading the posts to date and now as a budding trainee PI am looking forward to being able to draw on the wealth of experience and knowledge that populates the forums.

Cheers,

JimmyBob (Sydney)

Welcome,

I hope you enjoy it.....

I am very new and still learning from the more experienced however wanted to say that I only finished the course last year and I am currently sitting here watching an elevator, so if you are determined, its out there.

I wish I was in Sydney, Brisbane has been a hard slogg.

What lead you to the course/PI field??

Good Luck

Do what you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten.

Thank you both for your warm welcome. It is much appreciated!!

Agent 99, I am sorry to hear things have been difficult for you up in Brisbane and that you feel things would be better in Sydney. I would love to hear what the difference between the two cities are, as to date I have heard that finding work as a new investigator is much more difficult in NSW due to the 'probationary license' scheme, which has turned a lot of firms off hiring newbies.

Why did I decide to make the move? I guess I had been thinking about it for a while. I have been involved in the justice sector for some time now and had found myself becoming more and more facisinated with the investigations side of things. I like how in many ways it is like an artform.. Something that offers you a challenge and the ability to think 'outside the box' when approaching a case.

I also have been working as a contractor for a while and would enjoy contuing to have a fair amount of autonomy in how I undertake my work, whilst working within a strong legislative framework and towards clear client objectives/outcomes.

Any how, that's enough about me, what attracted you?

Cheers

Jimmybob

Hi Jimmybob,

Like you I have just started my Certificate III and looking forward to finishing the course and getting out there. I'm also in Sydney and trying to organise a get together for anyone in the industry, trainee's, just finished the course or seasoned professionals.  If you're interested then have a look at my post regarding a get together.

Welcome and good luck

Catherine

Hi Kalatiara,

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately I will be unable to make the meet up as I will be working that day. However, it looks like we will probably be undertaking the work-shops together at the end of Feb.

Good luck with your studies!! I look forward to meeting you soon.

Cheers
