After having performed mainly surveillance work for the last year or so I am thinking it may be time to broaden my horizons and dabble in the world of circs/factual.
In a past lifetime I conducted complex investigations, took many hundreds of detailed statements, prepared my own detailed statements and gave evidence in court way too many times. This was all public sector work and I have virtually zero experience in the private sector. I am particuarly keen to try criminal defence work with the qualifier that I would rather poke myself in the eye with a fork than handle a complex fraud matter
Through training and practical experience I have a pretty thorough grasp on important concepts such as negligence, forseeability, elements of a criminal offence, understanding relevant statute and case law and the many ways in which a seemingly good statement can be torn to shreds in court.
While not wanting to switch camps from surveillance to fulltime circs ... if anybody has a need for a detailed, complex ot troublesome statement to be taken (on a sub-contract basis) please feel free to give me a shout to discuss the matter. Areas I currently cover include anywhere between metro Melbourne, out to the East as far as Lakes Entrance, down to Mornington Peninsula, Welshpool etc.
