Hi
Theres a wealth of information about this very topic with a google search.

http://http://www.google.com.au/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=3&oq=808+micro+camera&hl=en-GB&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGLL_enAU326AU326&q=808+micro+camera+time+set

YouTube has a pile of videos on how to do this as well.

One site I found with what looked like specific information was
http://http://www.curbsideinvestigator.com/2009/11/14/episode-96-808-keychain-spy-cam-review/

Google is my friend.

Good luck

I hear you Shadow. I should have known you would have already googled it. I have had the same problem with an iphone ripoff from China, and a few other items that came with dodgy/non-existent instructions.

I eventually sorted out how to do what I wanted to do with them, but it was a lot of googling, and trial and error with the device. There would no doubt be a concise/ well written set of instructions posted somewhere in cyberspace by someone who has nutted it out and posted their results for others. Its just a matter of finding them.

Still, you are in the right profession for that, so good luck again.

There are some good imitations from China which look exactly the same as the real thing, but I have found that a really good brand is Lawmate and Lawmate now has an Australian Manager whose first name is Adam (he lives in the same town as I do).  I have looked through his showroom and the gadgets are top rate and the good thing with him is that if something goes wrong, you just let him know and he will replace it as long as it hasn't been misued (e.g. dropped in water, etc.).  I have bought two PV900s through him now and one had a fault and I had a new one within two weeks.

I do not get a kickback from this, but simply like to see a genuinely nice person who looks after their clients, do well.

Look at the Lawmate website.

It was ultimately through YouTube with some american guy (sorry that does help!). However you need to open a text document (using note pad), then type the following as an example:

[DATE]
2011/07/12
14:53:00

so the above will be the actual date and time. You then save it as TAG.txt. You then close the document (say on your desk top) then drag it to your device and save it next to the DCIM folder. Turn off and then on. That should work.

Downside...you cant purchase any micro-sd card for the device as I found out.... not sure what to do now (though havent inquired)..perhaps go back to the manufacturer??

Agent Shadow,

Thanks I will give that a go. I used an sd card from an old mobile phone I had. The unit works brilliantly, not sure for how long, we shall see.

Hi,

Still struggling, made a TAG.txt like you said, I try to put it next to the DCIM, but it keeps jumping away when I next go back into the files....frustrating..think I am missing something....The card says 'micro sd' on it if this helps...

I bought one of these and seem to have finally got the date thing sorted out after lots of swearing.  For whatever reason, every time I created the TAG.txt file the date changed itself back to a date a couple of weeks ago.

I kept deleting and replacing it but finally fixed it by going into the TAG.txt file on the SD card (rather than on the desktop and dragging it) and editing it there.  That worked.

One thing I did different to Agent Shadow's file was [date] in lower case rather than [DATE]in upper case.  That also made a difference.

If it helps, my card is a Transcend Micro SDHC Class 2 8GB that I bought from Jaycar.  The camera seems happy with it.

There was a program I used to quickly update the time on both pen and button cameras - it was called GetSysTime and was at http://diganet.net

You would simply connect the camera to computer via USB cable, click GetSysTime to synchronize the camera with the computer time.
(basically it did the same as creating the text file from the computer time and storing it on the pen - ready for loading when the pen restarted).

Having trouble finding it online now but this program may also work:
