The question is why would you need to liaise with the police?

Personally, I can see almost no reason that the police need be informed about anything a private investigator is doing unless the PI is undertaking the initial investigation of a criminal matter that will be handed to the police for prosecution. And even then, the liaising is after the PI has concluded their investigations, not during.

Same with surveillance.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your response.

So for all those surveillance operatives that do liaise with the police do they advise their clients that they do so?
