New student SA - a little confused
Hi there,
Im new to the course and just have a query about the South Australian law. South Australia has a Listening and Surveillance Devices Act which focuses primarily on listening devices. With regards to a Privacy Act, to my knowledge this does not exist in SA, rather we have freedom of information act and telecommunication (interception) act.
My query therefore is, as cameras (surveillance devices) are not the focus of the SA Act and there is no definition for private activity in it, do we answer the assessment questions with reference to another states Act for the purposes of the assignment or do I need to state that SA does not cater for this specifically OR am i infact wrong about the Act?
If it is the case that SA has not legislated sufficiently on these topics, is there a federal act to look to?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Dee

Re: New student SA - a little confused
Im also in SA and I remember having this problem, I answered the question based on I think it was the NSW or VIC act and it was marked correctly.
Good luck
